Tales of Woe 2

Brother Tom
Brother Tom, do you remember how
We used to ride the bus together
On our way to school?
Oh, that was years ago.On the upper deck we sat up front
And had so much to say.
We´ve surely changed since then, I know –
But that´s the way things go.We never thought about the future,
We never talked about the past.
We just existed in the present,
But that didn´t last. You work hard, make money,
I´m the kind of funny bloke
Who never thought of going anywhere.
Oh no, always on the road. When I ride a bus I often think of us
And things we had in common,
Brother Tom. Oh,
All those years ago.We never thought about the future,
We never talked about the past.
We just existed in the present,
But that didn´t last…it went by so fast...
Now it´s all a long, long time ago.We never thought about the future,
We never talked about the past.
We just existed in the present,
But that didn´t last… it went by so fast...
Now it´s all a long, long time ago.
All just a long, long time ago. -
Running in the Rain
Running in the rain, running in the rain.
Running in the rain, running in the rain.
You think I´m crazy, but it helps keep me sane.
Running in the rain, running in the rain.Seems like I´m out here all on my own,
Running in circles, feeling alone.
Beasts in the bushes, trolls behind trees
Making me nervous, I shake at the knees.Running in the rain, running in the rain.
Running in the rain, running in the rain.
You think I´m crazy, but it helps keep me sane.
Running in the rain, running in the rain.Questions and answers bout the world and his wife:
Where we´re all heading, the meaning of life.
World´s going crazy, or is it me?
Try not to stumble, just let it be.And the rain keeps on falling
And the man keeps on running, running, running...Running in the rain, running in the rain.
Running in the rain, running in the rain.
You think I´m crazy, but it helps keep me sane.
Running in the rain, running in the rain. -
All in God´s Hands
The disease came in the summer
And it lingered in the air.
In the mostly Christian community
There was sadness and despair. The people asked the preacher:
Why do our children die?
The preacher knew no answer,
But this was his reply:We´re all in God´s hands. (x3)
The wind blew through the city
And the epidemic spread.
In the mostly Jewish community
The people mourned their dead.Young and old were dying,
There seemed to be no cure.
The rabbi threw his arms up,
Of one thing he was sure:We´re all in God´s hands. (x3)
There are those who survive a catastrophe,
There are those with no such luck.
In the mostly Muslim community
Many families were struck. They sought an explanation,
Asked what they should do.
The imam simply answered
With the only truth he knew:We´re all in God´s hands. (x3)
